Purple coneflower - Echinacea purpurea
Commonly known as purple coneflower, this popular perennial is native to the eastern United States and thrives in prairies and open woodlands. Typically reaching heights of 2 to 4 feet, it features sturdy, hairy stems and lance-shaped leaves that provide a lush green backdrop. In mid to late summer, purple coneflower produces large, daisy-like flowers with vibrant purple petals and prominent, spiky central cones, attracting a variety of pollinators, including bees and butterflies.
