Red Twig Dogwood is beautiful deciduous native shrub that has small white flat topped, clustered flowers called cymes that appear in early summer. The white berries that develop after are called drupes and those are beloved by birds.  It is a fast grower and can rehabilitate riparian areas quickly. This is an excellent choice for a mixed hedge or butterfly garden as Red Twig Dogwood is a larval host of the Spring Azure Butterfly.
