Henderon’s checkermallow is a perennial with spikes of bright pink flowers that bloom from late spring through summer. Rare to find in its native habitat, it makes a wonderful garden addition, especially for those who are interested in cottage garden or meadow styles, as it’s readily available in the nursery trade. It’s an important butterfly host plant to the common checkered skipper, checkerspot, and American painted lady butterflies. This plant also attracts hummingbirds and other beneficial insects to your garden.
